Marty Swant, a Veritas member studying abroad in Belgium, said, “I haven’t met a single European yet that is in favor of John McCain. Everyone is for Obama.”

Andy Patton, on staff for three years at Veritas, said, “A friend of mine once said Republicans care for life before birth, and Democrats care for life after birth.”

Patrick Miller, the MU student who picked out the book Jesus For President for Veritas, said, “God isn’t all about America. It’s not his holy, set aside country to be his avenger.”

Chris Swift, who brought issues from the book to a discussion at The Rock, said, “We shouldn’t be putting our citizenship with America on the same level as our citizenship with Heaven.”
