Brief Biography: I come from Marshfield, Mo, a small town in Southwest Missouri. I am currently an Assistant City Editor at the Columbia Missourian. I was formerly a faith reporter for the Missourian. Prior to this, I was the interim Sports Editor for The Marshfield Mail, a small community weekly newspaper. I am a student at the MU School of Journalism studying news editorial reporting.
Hometown: Marshfield, Mo.

Future plans and career Goals: I plan on continuing my reporting career anywhere that will take me. It doesn’t matter where I go as long as fair, accurate and responsible reporting is the guiding principle of the news organization.
Why I am interested in religion: I consider faith to be the essence of culture. It is one of the threads that binds together the fabric of our community. I have a deep interest in how different religions and spiritual practices affect the lives of those who follow them.
Other Interests:
I enjoy playing blues guitar, hanging with my friends and family and playing a variety of sports, namely football, baseball and soccer. I also enjoy reading obscure research articles and books focusing on the importance of voice theory in establishing cross-religious and cultural dialogues. This may sound boring and…it is, at times. However, I am drawn to the subject…however odd that is.
Ethics Statement: I believe in the free practice of religion and the protection of the civil rights of those who participate in faith-based activities. Above all, I believe that reporting on religion is vital to facilitating respectful and educated community discourse to bridge cutural boundaries through open, honest and insightful stories that transcend the mundane.
