Brief Biography: I am a senior journalism and sociology major at the University of Missouri-Columbia. I have spent two semesters reporting on the Faith beat, and am now the assistant city editor for the Faith and Higher Education beats at the Missourian. I have also previously interned at the Portland (Maine) Press Herald and at Australian Geographic in Sydney, Australia.
Hometown: Longmont, CO
E-mail: asrgf8@mizzou.edu
Future plans and career Goals: I will be interning at the Palm Beach Post as a business intern following graduation. I hope to work for a mid-sized community paper and to eventually be a reporter on the religion beat, covering faith stories in the community.
Why I am interested in religion: Religion is the one beat where, no matter who you speak with, there is always a lot of passion. Religious beliefs affect every aspect of society, whether it be education, politics, science, health or family life. There is always something new to learn!
Other Interests: I enjoy salsa dancing and traveling, and tried sky diving for the first time last year, which was a lot of fun. I am currently planning a trip to Peru so I can see Machu Picchu in person.
